The old Woman and her Camera

Last night the Club's special guest was Sally Sallett, who give her talk "Never Underestimate An Old Woman With A Camera".

The Club zoom meeting had a good turn out of members, new and old to hear about how Sally's journey unfolded from her first camera club meeting to respected judge for the YPU.

We were taken through her camera kit right back to her first Kodak Brownie 127 through to her latest Olympus kit in use today, and her willingness to turn her hand to almost any subject or genre.

Sally is 'a wiz' at post production techniques and has her own recognised style of using textures to transform basic photos into works of art.

Sallly came accross as someone who when she started out was not an 'expert' but was just willling to try new things, and experiment with ideas just because it's fun to learn.

To hear that she has been so sucessful in her journey with this approch and is now regarded as an 'expert' was very inspiring. I am sure many of our members are now inspired to try new techniques and ideas.

Sally will return to DVCC for a further talk about her lockdown activities once we are able to host a session 'live' in our venue in the summer.
