About the Event
Please park in the visitor carpark at the Hemingfield Colliery Site for 6pm- 8pm (///fearfully.regretted.tastes - What 3 words) where we will have a photo-wander.
This site is very raw. It has the remains of a long history of mining, and is in the process of being lovingly restored as a visitor venue. BUT the ground is uneven and some areas have their inherent dangers - so members are asked to tread carefully. The rusty boilers are to die for, and the banksman's room has lots of interesting artefacts worth the visit. You will need a tripod and a light. We are allowed to wander around - but we do so at our own risk. The engine room has amazing machinery in situ, but is a challenge to capture! It is a dark and gloomy space - but full of fascinating historical tools and arfetfacts and machinery (and a ton of dust!) Mitch Sutherland, a young volunteer, has agreed to be on site to pose for in-situ portrait opportunities for our members.
