St Wilfrids Church, Hickleton

Please be at the meeting place - (The Church) at 7pm (///wants.wordplay.tried) where we step inside the churchyard to enjoy the architecture of this wonderful Norman Church.

In the churchyard there is a fabulous 8/9ft tall statue of Christ on the Cross, which is wonderfully photogenic, and might be improved later in the evening when the sun sets in the distance directly behind it.

Then we will be gifted access to the interior of the church. It is a beautifully decorated Catholic church - with a floor-to-ceiling altar dripping in red and gold, alabaster tombs and separate chapels, wonderful sculptures of St Wilfrid and a fabulous tableau of the scene just after Christ was taken down from the cross.

Parking is available oppostite the church and is free.
