I feel diversity is the key to interesting and informative meetings I personally was getting set in my ways (blinkered) before joining DVCC . It has opened my imagination to different aspects of photography, some of which I would never have considered

Being fairly new to Dearne Valley Camera Club (October 2021) I would like to thank all of you fabulous members and committee members for making me feel completely involved in the group and activities, and for making me so welcome. From my very first group meet, where the club had planned to do “light-painting & light-trails”, everyone set out to make me feel included and looked after – in spite of the awful weather preventing us from doing what was originally planned – quick thinking members improvised and made it possible to swap to doing indoor light trails instead. Brilliant – I love this “Don’t give up” attitude – It shines through in so much of what DVCC does and stands for.

“In September 2021 we commissioned the help of DVCC to take photographs at one of our largest events of the year for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice. We held not one but two events that day, both of which had their own technical challenges! The first event was a ‘Dragon Boat Race & family fun day’. Not only were there a large number of the general public on site, there was the added challenge of capturing the 18 metre, 22 person dragon boats powering down the lake at a rate of knots! The second event: ‘Light up the Lake’, was even more challenging from a photography point of view. The hospice had organised for hundreds of candles to be floated out onto the lake at dusk in memory of family and friends. As this was a time for reflection and remembering loved ones lost, the event had a totally different feel. DVCC were complete professionals and respectfully completed their task without impacting on the visitors' experience. The organisation of both events was seamless. DVCC were completely flexible and worked around any challenges with ease. The resulting photographs were fantastic and we were blown away by the quality and variation provided. We have already used some of them in our marketing materials and are delighted with the finished results. Their professionalism and attitude was faultless and we cannot wait to work with them again!”
